Bhay ithale sampat nahi
maj tuzhi aathvan yete,
me sandyakali gato
tu mala shikavali gite.

Te zare chandra sajanache
Ti dharati bhagavi maya,
zadanshi nijalo aapan
zadant punha ugavaya.

To bol mand halvasa
ayushya sparshuni gela,
sitechya vanavasatil
janu angi raaghavshela

Stotrant indriye avaghi
gungunati dukha kunache,
he sarata sampat nahi
chandane tuzya smaranache.

भय इथले संपत नाही...मज तुझी आठवण येते...
मी संध्याकाळी गातो...तू मला शिकविली गीते...

हे झरे चंद्र सजणांचे, ही धरती भगवी माया
झाडांशी निजलो आपण, झाडांत पुन्हा उगवाया

त्या वेळी नाजूक भोळ्या, वारयाला हसवून पळती
क्षितीजांचे तोरण घेऊन, दारावर आली भरती

तो बोल मंद हळवासा आयुष्य स्पर्शुनी गेला
सीतेच्या वनवासातील जणू राघव शेला

देऊळ पलिकडे तरीही, तुज ओंजळ फुटला खांब
थरथरत्या बुबूळापाशी, मी उरला सुरला थेंब

संध्येतील कमल फ़ुलासम, मी नटलो श्रृंगाराने

prayag, i think prem virah far utkattene vyakt kelay kavi grace yani ..... sitela vanvasat ramachi aathwan zalyawar ramacha tichya jawal aslela shela (clothes) aadhar watto ...tasach priykarachya aathwannichya balawar preyasi jagtey asa kahisa kavila mhanaychay bahudha..... jagachya bhayane ti tyala swikaru pan shakat nahi... aan utkat prrmane manane nakaru pan shakat nahiye....mala kalalela ha aarth.....

Thanks Mandar. Kavitecha artha maza mitra Amrut hyachya mhannya pramane adhyatmik watto. mala deha madhe astana, vykta roopat astana avyaktachi athva hote, mi ayushyachya shevti (sandhyakali) tu mala dileli deni mala athavtat (devachi athvan hote).
Madhunach kadhi tari tya avyaktacha smaran hota ani to bol mala sitela vanvasat ramahi athvan karun denarya shelya pramane ahe.
Amrut chya mhanya pramane 'chandra sajan mhanje chandane. zarya pramae padnare chandane ahe, ani dharati hi maya ahe.... aplya dolya samor ubha rahilela ha ek set ahe, pan apa jithun alo tithech aplyala parat jayche ahe'

Hi Aai ani balpan yavar kavita aahe. When we feel 'bhay' as we grow old 'sandhyakal'our childhood memories, songs keep us going. The memories of are our solace, like Rama's shawl for Sita. Eventually, we rest in the lap of those memories to be born again in a mothers lap.

This is my husband's interpretation.

As far as i know poems written by Grace are not easy to decipher and each time i listen..can derive multiple contexts. As far as I understood the context : At every stage in life we get motivated from someone and follow their path to achieve peace or salvation. The motivational person may be a mentor , a mother, a teacher, a father or a person who is admired by us. This motivational figure helps us to look further.

In the second stanza the poet talks about 'zare chandra sajnache' and ' ti dharti bhagvi maya' which might mean the unconditional love from our motivational figure which resembles our mother earth..we lay and sleep in her bosom even after death so that we may return something back to this mother earth.

In the third stanza the poet talks about ' to bol mand halvasa ayush vyapuni gela '..this may be infered as the comforting words and advice given to us by our mentor or dear one which changed our life . This feelings are compared with feelings of Sita's exile and the security she feels just by the sight of Lord Rama 's shawl.

The last stanza ..I have not understood much but what i felt is the poet says 'strotrat indriye avaghi gungunati dukkha konache ' Life may be pain or suffering and this can be permanent and at every stage I remember my mentor as a divine hold over me....'

Nobody is helpful to understand the poem but for certain blabbering in Marathi! But who cares? The poem and the music is a divine experience! Even though I don't understand the language I found it to be extremely sweet!

कवी ग्रेस यांनी पंडित ह्रदयनाथ मंगेशकर यांना पत्र लिहिले होते... त्या पत्रास चाल लावून पंडितजींनी त्याचे अजरामर गीत जन्माला घातले.. ... यात ग्रेस आणि पंडितजींच्या नात्याची झलक दिसून येते... मी असे ऐकले होते
